Eye Candy :: Fatten up those Lashes!

I am, for the most part, a bargain shopper. When I can I buy economically I do. When I can buy a lesser name brand or generic I do... for the most part. But there are times when they simply don't measure up. My store brand peanut butter can't hold a candle to Skippy Natural. English Muffins must be made by Thomas's... Painkillers can be generic and I tend to buy certain things, like shampoos, when they are on sale. Pantene, Neutrogena, Morrocan Oil, to name a few, all work well on me so I buy what's on sale. I'm fussy about my paper towels - only Bounty will do, and I thought I was a Charmin girl until I accidentally ran out and picked up the Stop & Shop brand. I daresay it was soft!

As for lipsticks and lipglosses I tend to buy by color and price and because I am constantly misplacing them, leaving them in this bag or that bag, I am happy to buy the drug store brands. They've never let me down. After paying top dollar for Lancome's foundation I was happy to discover that the L'Oreal equivalent came awfully close to her sister brand... if it wasn't identical.

There are certain products, however, where I am brand loyal and no substitute will ever do. I've been using Guerlain's Terra Cotta bronzer since I've been in college and on the rare occasion I've tried another brand I've been sorely disappointed. My blush is Lancome, though sometimes I switch to Clinique. I just like them.  As for the mascara, I know people and make-up artists have sworn by the little pink and green bottle, but nothing, and I mean nothing, can hold a candle to Lancome's mascaras. The names change from year to year but they never fail to produce the most magnificent, full lashes. I am a mascara girl, especially at night. I want my eyes to stand out, to speak out... to speak volumes!

Recently, I was at Sephora replacing old and used up make-up. I stood in front of the Lancome display with a mascara in hand when I noticed a small promotional package that contained the same mascara plus something called a Super Enhancer as well as a liquid eyeliner. I snatched the package up. I used the enhancer for the first time the other evening expecting not really to notice any significant difference. But wow! The difference was amazing and instant! I have naturally long and thick lashes but when I get dressed to go out I like them dramatically full, like false lashes almost! So, for all you dolls who love fat lashes, this is a must for your make up bags!

For really thick and full lashes....

I've been using this for over 20 years....

So there you have it... My full endorsement. I was not endorsed by Lancome or asked to promote these products.

Go grab a date and some of this fantastic eye candy and go have some fun on the town!

XOXO,

Lancome has always had THE best mascara and I tried them all when I was a cosmetics buyer.

I use a blend of (mostly) high(er) end products with a few drugstore bargains. I really wish I could find a cheap mascara that have me the "no make-up" look.
Clinique naturally glossy is pretty awesome but there is not waterproof option.

I have heard about Lancome for years. Does this unsolicited message mean it's truly superior or are you sentimental about mascara like a girl's first perfume.
I suppose $30 (4x a year) will let me figure it out for myself.

Meg, I have very sensitive eyes... I have used and do like Clinique but I love the look of fuller lashes. I do no buy mascarra 4x a year. Only 2x. And if it dries out the best tip is to add a drop or two of Visine into the tube... and voila!

I really think this is superior, and unlike the foundation where I substituted and love the L'Oreal version, the L'Oreal mascaras are simply not the same.
