Peter Pan Grows Up :: A Stylish Guide to Dressing This Season

Always on our dress-up game.

I love Peter Pan collars. I wore them as a child with my smocked dresses, and with my uniforms under navy blue cardigans. I dressed my daughter in them when she was younger as well. They were a rite of childhood fashion passage - classic, simple and timeless.

Perhaps these qualities are why they've recently become so popular among the big girl set. They give your outfit the perfect polish, whether worn casually with jeans during the daytime, with sweaters and dress skirts or pants at the office, attached to a little cocktail dress or more elegantly and elaborately bejeweled for a more elegant look. Peter Pan, it seems, has grown up and I'm loving it!

I love this collar by Holidickeys. Simple, white classic (though they offer other styles) this little dickey easily slides under any sweater, cardigan, crew neck, boat-neck or V-neck adding a simple, easy and sophisticated elegance. Slip it under a little black dress to give it a new look, or under a little black sweater. I love the detachable collars and this Holidickey as it allows you the polished, finished look that a collar creates without any of the bulk under the garment!

I just love this look and think it's a perfect one to lead us into the holiday season, as it easily transitions us from daytime to evening wear. You can head out to your cocktail party immediately after work without having to change your clothes. I can think of nothing more perfect!

Have a wonderful week!

And happy Cyber Monday Shopping!

XOXO,

Jessica

I grew up wearing the Peter Pan collar too. I love it! Did you see the blouses that Boden has this season?

Jessica,
Love Peter Pan's! Some pretty things here. I's love to get a dickey. It's just a very fresh look with a sweater. Love it!
